I'll dominate 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former twice unified boxing king Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

However, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly happening.
